Vacations are usually an excuse to eat "whatever I want." But coming home bloated and 10 pounds heavier ruins the relaxation. You can enjoy local food without going off the rails.
At the Airport
Avoid the Cinnabon. Look for:
- Starbucks: Egg bites (sous vide) are keto-friendly.
- Newsstands: Beef jerky, nuts, and cheese sticks.
- Sit-down bars: Cobb salad or Buffalo wings (unbreaded).
Hotel Breakfasts
The continental breakfast is a carb nightmare (waffles, cereal, pastries). Stick to:
- Scrambled eggs and sausage.
- Plain yogurt (check for sugar).
- Cream cheese and coffee.
Road Trips
Pack a cooler. Hard-boiled eggs, cold cuts, cheese, and low-carb energy drinks/coffee. Fast food burgers without buns are your safety net.
